This is the Art Part. &nbsp; You'll find a bunch of my creations over the years below. Every piece that you see on this page is an expression of my passion for making things that I like, and assume others will too. But if they don’t that’s ok, too. I make stuff that I would like, if I wasn’t me.&nbsp; Stuff here is grouped with some thought by genre, concept, timeline, theme, series, medium, or just the joy that comes with creating something cool with no rhythm or reason. Late 20th century American Impressionism was the style, school and color palette, similar to painters from the Boston School, artists like Edmund C. Haha. No, they didn’t. Waiting French Style meals at celebrity-soaked tables at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Century City, did that. But it was fun to work to a deadline on illustartions, and see my stuff published in the Sunday Morning newspaper of a big, sprawling American megatropolis. I would run out and buy several copies, every Sunday morning I was published. I also do them because I had a flashback recently to my first ever voice-over session as a green creative director in 1985. The creative group from the agency were at the old Bert, Barz &amp; Kirby studios in Hollywood on Highland right under the 101 Freeway doing audio for a Disney TV commercial. The voice-over talent was a bigger than life seasoned pro, Hal Douglas.I was struck by several things. A. Hal was very happy and gregarious. B. Hal worked for less than ninety minutes. C. Hal was paid a lot of money. D. Hal was driven to the studio in a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud with a properly-attired personal driver. Damn I thought, I kinda want to do that. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had gotten a voice over reel together, and quit advertising. Come to think of it, some of the people I worked with at the time might have liked that. Ha. But, I liked art and advertsing more, so I stayed put.&nbsp; All to say, I finally put that reel together, below, over the last dozen years. Took me long enough. He moved to Los Angeles in 1980 and started his career in Advertisng &amp; Design in 1983, while continuing to create art, make drawings, illustrations, paintings, posters, and other personal and commercial art projects. From dozens of political drawings for the now defunct Los Angeles Herald Examiner in the mid 1980’s, to designing magazines, posters and ads in Toronto, Holme sees everything in his career as one big, ongoing, continuous creative art blank slate, waiting to be filled with his unique vision of the world. In advertising, he has been creative director, for some of the world's best ad agencies, including Chiat/Day, SapientNitro, FCB, Publicis, Y&amp;R and J. Walter Thompson, as well as smaller boutiques like Wolf Toronto, and Sensis Los Angeles. As an accomplished artist and published illustrator, Holme has spent his career weaving creativity with commercial success on numerous award-winning brands and projects, while also continuing to create art with no commercial or advertising purpose, including being in many art exhibits and shows.
