Limited edition (100), c. 2009, couriered to local Creative Directors. Then I did a second press run, with the image, “Carrot, Ball & Chain”, sur-printed on the remaining thirty posters, c. 2010. Whoa, a limited edition, on top of another limited edition. Far out. “Then Sapient Nitro hired me.”, c. 2010, couriered to local Creative Directors. And then a third version, this one in an email, sent to LA Creative Directors in 2015.
The reverse-deconstructive animation GIF that you clicked on to get here is the new logo that we created at Mass Minority, for Mass Minority. It represents a multi-faceted, six-sided, data-driven marketing juggernaut, which we are.
Thanks to Brett Channer who kept calm and called me in 2017. I had just gotten back from a group art show in Beijing (the short, slightly sordid highlights are in the Art section of this site). He asked me to come back and help him build something different, something iconoclastic, something new. I’ve always been a sucker for that pitch, but especially coming from him. I was all in.
The first part of this scrolling website is work I’ve been involved with as Director of Art & Content there, and credits are given for that work.
Hopefully, I haven’t forgotten anybody.
I’m sure we’ll get back to the office soon in The Distillery District, but in the meantime, even if only on Zoom, Meet, or Team calls in sweatpants and t-shirts, I am jazzed to work with this incredibly talented team of data and creative pirates. ︎
